As i already mentioned i moved to another city last month. It's the capital of the country, which means there are much more activities available for us. With one of my friends we decided to spent our Saturday traveling around the city. Sofia is candidate for 'European Capital of 2019'. So the museums and galleries are preparing for more and more tourists. Roman ruins were uncover in the centre of the city. Probably they will become part of a new museum.
Yesterday me and my friend decided to take part in the Youth Development Fest, which took place in the Borisova gradina or Knyaz Boris' Garden. The fest is organized by AISEC- Bulgaria. This is the World's largest student-run organization focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development. I'd like to become part of this project. Maybe next week i will apply for it.
This is the Lily Lake in the Boris' Garden. In the middle of it is a monument with 3 kids and frogs. Around the lake there are park benches, which all were occupied by the time we went there.
There were doves everywhere. People are giving them food, so they are not afraid of humans.
I had a friend who were terrified of doves. I found this fear totally unfounded, because usually doves are scared of people. It;s best that she wasn't with us yesterday.
There is another lake in the garden, bigger than the first one. Ariana Lake, where you can hire a bout or water wheel :
There also so many things you can do in the Garden. Most of them are for children, but i saw some adults riding small cars. You can hire a bike for an hour or more. There are many places you can eat, have a drink or just chill out. There is also this big balls, full of air where you can 'walk on water'( if you manage to stand on your feet, which i think is close to the impossible). But I still want to try this someday.
There is also a inflated castle, where you can let your children play. Or a place where you can win a toy for you kid or beloved. Although the toys were nothing special. Oh, and you can try bungee jumping, which didn't look so scary as it is from bridges or other higher places.
