Meeting with another culture

Because we went to the Boris' garden in the wrong day, we didn't find any origami teachers, or Japanese girls, we had to go back there. Today we were a bit late but we manage to make few origami figures. The teachers were leaving, but were helpful enough to show us how to make origami animals. Here are the things that we made :

I made a swan. But I made a mistake during the folding, so it is unable to move its wings. But the boy who showed me how to make gave his to me. I thought origami art was easier. The teacher have there own studio where they give lessons, to people who want to learn how to fold paper. The fact that from one blank piece of paper a man can create a beautiful item is amazing. I'm really glad I had the chance to try this. The girls I was with made star and a butterfly. All of the items we made were very easy, but still wonderful.

We had the opportunity to be taken a photo, dressed like a Japanese girls. They gave us kimonos and two Japanese girls helped us get dressed. It wasn't an easy task. One of the girls was really beautiful. She looked like geisha.

There was a table on which were presented different objects, part of the Japanese lifestyle. There was a game with black and white pieces. They explained to us the rules, but neither one of us remembered anything. That we played with a ball, which wasn't that hard. I even manage to keep the ball still on the wooden part of the toy. There were some cards and other toys, powder-cases, fans for woman and for man.

Here are other origami items, not made by us(except the butterfly) :

Exploring a new place - Park

As i already mentioned i moved to another city last month. It's the capital of the country, which means there are much more activities available for us. With one of my friends we decided to spent our Saturday traveling around the city. Sofia is candidate for 'European Capital of 2019'. So the museums and galleries are preparing for more and more tourists. Roman ruins were uncover in the centre of the city. Probably they will become part of a new museum.

Yesterday me and my friend decided to take part in the Youth Development Fest, which took place in the Borisova gradina or Knyaz Boris' Garden. The fest is organized by AISEC- Bulgaria. This is the World's largest student-run organization focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development. I'd like to become part of this project. Maybe next week i will apply for it.

This is the Lily Lake in the Boris' Garden. In the middle of it is a monument with 3 kids and frogs. Around the lake there are park benches, which all were occupied by the time we went there.

There were doves everywhere. People are giving them food, so they are not afraid of humans.

I had a friend who were terrified of doves. I found this  fear totally unfounded, because usually doves are scared of people. It;s best that she wasn't with us yesterday.

There is another lake in the garden, bigger than the first one. Ariana Lake, where you can hire a bout or water wheel :

There also so many things you can do in the Garden. Most of them are for children, but i saw some adults riding small cars. You can hire a bike for an hour or more. There are many places you can eat, have a drink or just chill out. There is also this big balls, full of air where you can 'walk on water'( if you manage to stand on your feet, which i think is close to the impossible). But I still want to try this someday.
There is also a inflated castle, where you can let your children play. Or a place where you can win a toy for you kid or beloved. Although the toys were nothing special.  Oh, and you can try bungee jumping, which didn't look so scary as it is from bridges or other higher places.

THE REASON I STARTED BLOGGING

I opened a  new chapter in my life. I moved to another city. The capital of the small country I live in. By the way the country's name is Bulgaria. I bet 50% of readers have no idea where Bulgaria is. Well, it's in South Europe. It's not a bad country, but i still want to live somewhere else.
Here i am now, at my new home, which consists of one room, a bathroom, which i share with two girls and a balcony, which i'm tankful for. I'm studying Economics and Business in the University of National and World Economy. It's is the eldest, the most prestigious and the largest University of Economics in Southeastern Europe. It't not the best in Europe, but it's nice for beginning.
I have articles about bloggers who improved their writing skills. That's part of the reason i created this blog. I'd like to be successful later i think that exposing my thoughts and views can help me gain more experience in keeping a journal. And eventually bring me new acquaintances or even friends.
In my last publication i wrote :Say Yes! I'm saying yes to one event i remember little about, but i'm still interested to go and see. I'm in the capital city where everything is new and amusing. I'm sure it won't be waste of time to travel nearly an hour to be part of this event. :) Later i'll share details!
